thermal effects. Conducted transient and steady state dynamic
analysis of mill drives. Conducted Finite Element Analysis of
equipment including large displacement and plasticity
non-linearity's. Provided consulting service on bearing problems
for the corporation. Wrote project proposals, administered project
staff and budget.
Corporate Consulting Mechanical Engineer - provided advanced
technical consulting in mechanical engineering and mechanical
systems analysis relating to equipment design and problem solving
throughout the corporation. Kept abreast of and applied computer
aided engineering analysis within other departments. Provided
analytical services in areas of FEM, bearings, seals, gears, and
steel rolling technology. Coordinated task forces regarding
solution of various problems.
Head of the Applied Mechanics Group - supervised engineers,
technicians and programmers in the development and application of
analytical models and finite element techniques to analyze
equipment and process design problems on steel mill, marine, and
mining equipment. Responsible for several university research
projects on heat transfer studies of jet cooling and FEM
approaches to metal deformation. Responsible for 1 and 5 year
plans, group budget, staff development, performance appraisal and

Supervisor - Bearing and Seal Research Group - responsible for
theoretical work and research programs on high-speed ball
bearings, roller bearings and mainshaft seals for small gas
turbine engines. Group performed all bearing and seal design work

Design Analyst - performed analysis, design and problem solving on
gas turbine engine mainshaft bearings and seals. Performed heat
transfer studies on engine components. Worked in Rotor Dynamics
Group on engine critical speed, rotor response and engine balance.
Developed prototype oil-film damper for mainshaft application.
